Over the past days, authorities and people in Ho Chi Minh city have donated nearly VND5 billion to assist people in northern and central localities who have been seriously affected by floods.

On October 12
th, the city Red Cross launched a movement encouraging people to donate money to give urgent assistance to northern and central localities.
During the launch ceremony, sponsors donated over VND560 million to assist flood-affected people. Earlier, Red Cross at the grassroots levels mobilized over VND1 billion, which will be transferred to Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Son La and Hoa Binh provinces. Rescue delegations will also be established to assist Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien - Hue.
Together with the city Red Cross, from September 21st to October 9th, the city Fatherland Front mobilized VND3 billion to assist flood-affected people. At present, the organization continues to call on organizations and individuals to donate./.
