The district 1 People’s Committee during a meeting on June 14th reported that 116 of 134 routes in the central area are clear. However, difficulties remain during allocation of a concentrated trading area for residents, the methods of dealing with violations, and the re-seizing of pavement for personal purposes.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong appreciated the efforts of district 1 in ensuring urban order over the past months, however, he noted that violations still remain.

He urged the district Party Committee and authority to increase the role of ward leaders in strictly punishing violations and promote the inspection role of press agencies and people, while seeking solutions to support ex-traders on pavements to shift their jobs./.
