Ho Chi Minh city holds waste recycling festival

A waste recycling festival was held by the Ho Chi Minh city Department of Natural Resources and Environment on April 9th, encouraging people to reduce, reuse and recycle waste, for sustainable production and consumption.

During the festival, people were instructed how to classify waste, collect plastic and aluminum products for reuse, and collect hazardous waste. Participants were introduced to using environment friendly products instead of nylon bags, and join environmental protection solutions in agricultural production; and have access to water saving and protection solutions.

The organizing committee launched competitions on waste recycling and carried out the week to collect hazardous waste at home.

The festival marked an effort to raise communities’ awareness on waste reduction, reuse and recycling in production and consumption, promote green production and lifestyle, and mobilize society to protect the environment./.
