According to the city Party Committee, over the past 2 years, there has been more positive change in cadres’ and Party members’ awareness and actions in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style by connecting it with Party building, the realization of political, economic and social tasks, and an increase of dialogues and solutions to local difficulties.
Addressing the ceremony, Nguyen Thien Nhan, Politburo member and Secretary of the city Party Committee, said that in 2017, the Politburo issued a conclusion on continued realization of Resolution 16-NQ/TW on orientations and tasks for the development of Ho Chi Minh city by 2020. In particular, the National Assembly’s Resolution 54 on pilot special mechanisms and policies is a breakthrough solution and a driving force for the city’s more rapid and sustainable development.
According to Mr. Nhan, in 2017, the city’s economy continued to develop well, together with good results in social and cultural activities, as well as ensuring social welfare and security. “Heads of agencies at all levels have promoted their responsibilities in fulfilling their personal working plans during studying and following Uncle Ho’s example,” he said.
Praising outstanding followers of Uncle Ho’s example, he urged each Party organization, cadre and Party member to continue to master President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology and viewpoints, and build up really pure and strong Party organizations. “Each person must regularly practice, study, innovate and sacrifice for constructing, protecting and boosting the development of the city honoured to be named after Uncle Ho,” he added.
During the ceremony, 153 collectives and 244 individuals were honoured for well following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style./.
