Ho Chi Minh city’s labor market is developing with demand for increased numbers of high quality workers who have mastered science, technology, management, production and business skills.

The city Centre for Forecasting Manpower Needs and Labor Market Information has issued a report on labor market in 2017 and a forecast for 2018.

According to the centre, in 2018, the city is expected to provide 300,000 jobs, an increase of 5% compared to 2017.

In particular, the market will focus on attracting high quality laborers working in key sectors for expanding business and production scale, foreign investment and labor export.

The strong development of electronic devices, including personal computers, smart phones, cell phones, tablets and game devices, has led to a demand for personnel work in digital marketing, the centre has reported.

In its report, the centre analysed that there will be strong development in electronic commerce, attracting a large number of workers. Meanwhile, the city’s policies will be issued to attract foreign investment, leading to an increase in the number of high quality translators and interpreters./.
