Addressing the launch ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tan Binh, Director of the city Department of Health, said the campaign this year is being held one month earlier than in previous years in order to actively deal with the complex changes of the climate.

The campaign aims to encourage people to remove from living areas any items that can hold stagnant water, eliminating places for mosquitoes to reproduce.

In particular, the city has regularly organized education activities on the prevention of dengue and Zika virus diseases, with speakers, panels and slogans.

Together with activities to kill larva and mosquitoes, and those to sanitise houses and the environment weekly in districts, in areas reporting dengue and those at high risk of reporting dengue, the Southern hub has focused on levying fines for behaviours violating medical regulations./.
