The information was announced during a meeting held on March 17th by the city Fatherland Front to review the mobilization of capital for the fund.

According to the city Fatherland Front, thanks to the mobilization, a wide range of activities have been carried out to support cadres, soldiers, and soldiers’ and fishermen’s families who are living on islands; including organizing visits to navy and fisheries resources surveillance forces, buying equipment and devices for their missions with over VND41.5 billion.

The activities have helped increase the dissemination of information about border and island areas, thus expanding people’s understanding about the Party and State viewpoints and guidelines during struggle for border and island sovereignty.

Addressing the meeting, Vo Thi Dung, Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee, appreciated the activities towards border and island areas which pervade all classes of people. “Many activities contribute to raise the awareness and responsibility of cadres and people in protecting the nation, and recognise more clearly the efforts of cadres, soldiers and people persistently holding on at border areas and remote islands,” she said.

She urged agencies and districts to work together to promote creative ways to mobilize greater assistance for the fund. She also requested the city Fatherland Front to care well for beneficiaries’ families and those who return from military service.

During the event, the city Fatherland Front presented certificates of merit to 77 collectives and 9 individuals that had made great contributions to the dissemination of sea and island sovereignty protection information./.
