Ho Chi Minh city resistance war traditional club celebrates 30th anniversary

The Ho Chi Minh city resistance war traditional club on September 20th celebrated its 30th anniversary, in which delegates reviewed the glorious tradition of the southern people during resistance wars, encouraging contributions to building the Party and authority to make it pure and strong.

Throughout 30 years, the club has focused on diverse groups of work, including educating politics and ideology, educating tradition, carrying out charitable work and boosting emulation campaigns. With over 40,000 members, over the past years, the club has donated VND15 billion per year for social work.

Addressing the ceremony, Dinh La Thang, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee, confirmed that revolutionary activists since the early period of the resistance war, whether dead or alive, are marked as eternal flames of patriotism with indomitable revolutionary spirit always existing in their souls. “Their spirit of patriotism is also revealed in caring for the future generations,” said Secretary Thang.

“The affection is really a precious property that needs maintaining.”

According to Duong Quan Ha, Chairman of the club, all the club members always hold the spirit of patriotism and of real communists to participate in social activities, contributing to building the Party and authority as well as educating younger generations on the tradition.

The club has collected and compiled over 100 books about the years of resistance war in the southern region and in Sai Gon, through which the members want to emphasize the indomitable spirit and struggle of cadres, Party members and people in the south during the years of resistance war, and during national protection and construction later.

Established in 1986, the club gathered resistance war participants, joining the South in carrying out resistance war launched on September 23rd, 1945 against the French colonialists returning to invade Vietnam for the second time./.
