Since 2017, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Japanese Government has sponsored the construction of the plant, which can treat 2,000 cubic metres of water per day, using advanced water treatment technology.

Accordingly, the Japanese Government has given non-refundable ODA worth JPY1.1 billion for the project, which also uses VND4.2 billion from Quang Nam province’s reciprocal capital, ensuring that waste water is treated before release in Cau bridge canal.

The construction helps improve the environment and increase the value of Cau bridge heritage, while ensuring the living environment for over 1,000 residents in 5 wards.

As Japan and Vietnam are increasing their strategic partnership, and to realize the policy on high quality infrastructure cooperation by the Japanese Government, JICA will enhance cooperation by carrying out projects on water environment infrastructure, making active contributions to Vietnam’s socio-economic development./.
