The Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security has developed a plan to ensure traffic safety and lead APEC member economies’ delegations, mobilizing hundreds of vehicles and thousands of police from 10 provinces and cities during the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.

Accordingly, the department will instruct traffic police in different localities on how to allocate forces to regulate the traffic, protect delegations, prevent and clear away traffic congestion.
Authorized agencies will mobilize thousands of traffic police from localities such as Ho Chi Minh city, Hanoi, Nghe An, Ninh Binh and Quang Ninh to join tasks for APEC. In Da Nang city alone, dozens of cars, hundreds of motorbikes and hundreds of police will gather to ensure traffic safety.
The department will also work with mobile police, criminal police and special police to reinforce security, prevent activities or schemes to cause disorder or terrorism, and improve traffic police’s style to develop the image of friendly, responsible and humanitarian authorized officers in international friends’ eyes.
A practice exercise on leading APEC delegations and regulating traffic will be held on October 15th.
APEC Year 2017, hosted by Vietnam, includes 200 activities held across 10 provinces and cities, with the most important event being the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Da Nang city./.
