The MoU was signed on the eve of the visit of Mr. Huynh Duc Viet, Secretary of the Phu Yen provincial Party Committee, to India under the Distinguished Visitors’ Program.

This project is part of the five projects of Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) program, each worth 50,000 USD, to be undertaken as part of India’s assistance under the Mekong Ganga Cooperation (MGC).

The project includes the upgrade and repair of overflow bridge and construction of access road to the bridge in Tan Long village, Xuan Son Nam commune, Dong Xuan mountainous district with poor transport system. In the rainy season, the bridge floods, causing difficulties for people and vehicles.

Every year, after the rainy season, it has to be repaired. The project, when completed, will gradually improve the infrastructure in the commune, creating favorable conditions for local people to travel, contributing to improving their livelihood, as well as the socio-economic development of the district.

India’s assistance under the QIPs program has achieved significant progress since it was launched in 2014. So far, nine projects have been carried out in the nation./.
