The figures were provided by the Overseas Laborer Management Department under the Ministry of Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA).

Accordingly, the Japanese market received 54,504 laborers, and over 100,000 trainees, becoming the country with largest number of trainees sent, among 15 other countries.

China’s Taiwanese market continued to be the largest market for Vietnamese labourers, with 66,926 laborers in 2017.

The Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Algeria and Romania, also received Vietnamese.

The results were brought about by MOLISA efforts in organizing dialogues with 280 labor export businesses to tackle their difficulties, raising the quality of businesses’ operation and services, and the quality of labourers sent.

During the Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s official visit to Japan and attending the 23rd Asia Future Congress, on June 6th, 2017, under the witness of the Vietnamese Prime Minister and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe, the two sides inked a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) on technical internships. This was the first time the Japanese Government signed such document with a foreign country on internships, marking a great progress in labor cooperation.

By joining labor markets providing high income, labourers’ remittances increase year by year, contributing to boosting poverty reduction and building new style rural areas./.
