The logistics work serving the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week and related meetings in Da Nang city has now been completed, the city Department of Foreign Affairs has reported.

Volunteers and contactors selected for APEC
Since July, 2 advance visits of central leaders and delegations from 21 APEC member economies and the International APEC Secretariat with over 500 people have been made to inspect facilities, etiquette plans, logistics, security and healthcare preparations made by the host. After the visits, the plans have been adjusted to make them more thorough. As planned, 14 five-star hotels will be allocated to APEC member economies’ high-ranking delegations to stay, with some selected to be the place for important events.

Identifying that human resources will decide the success of the organization, since 2015, Da Nang city has focused on training etiquette, diplomatic regulations, foreign languages for the city leaders, leaders of departments, cadres and officers, as well as security and healthcare forces, together with hotel managers and staff, and taxi drivers. Nearly 800 volunteers and contactors have been selected to serve the important event.

The city Department of Foreign Affairs has prepared locations suitable for each meeting, allocated accommodations for each group of delegates, and set up the parking lot for nearly 1,600 cars serving the event. Meanwhile, the city Department of Transport and the city Police will be responsible for leading the delegations.

The preparations have been made ready to welcome leaders and delegations from 21 APEC member economies, together with nearly 10,000 other delegates and journalists./.
