Media go along with businesses in environment protection

(CPV) - The 5th caravan “Media go along with business in environment protection” was organized by the Forest and Environment Protection Magazine, Gaia Nature Conservation, Ho Chi Minh city Nature and Environment Protection Society, Phu An Bamboo Village, and World Guinness Record holder Dr. Nguyen Moc Que in Binh Duong province on November 24th and 25th.

This two day trips supported the movement “All people take part in environment protection for human life and the nature”, and also aimed to raise awareness and foster attitudes for environment protection and nature conservation among the public and policy makers. The event also provided opportunities for businesses and media to take practical actions to contribute to the environment.

The caravan was participated in by 120 representatives from businesses; central and local authorities and media. In addition, over 1,500 students aged 12 to 15 years old and teachers from Thoi Hoa Secondary School also took part in the launching ceremony at Thoi Hoa Secondary School, Ben Cat town, Binh Duong province.

The caravan included 40 cars which departed from Ho Chi Minh city, joined with Binh Duong participants, displaying banners with messages on environment protection. All on the way, the participants were told practical stories related to environment protection and nature conservation by Gaia Nature Conservation experts.

The program included a few practical activities including: planting trees, exploring and learning about bamboo conservation at Phu An bamboo village, awarding scholarships to over 200 disadvantage children who claim high record in studies and environment protection; sharing experiences and exchange relations in a workshop to connect business with environment protection activities at Dai Nam Tourist Site.

One highlight of the program is the launching ceremony "All people take part in environment protection for human life and the nature”, organized at Thoi Hoa Secondary School. Approximately 1,500 students and all participants were excited to take part in a creative and informative game show organized by Gaia Nature Conservation. The participants were also excited to learn about nature and environment, as well as environment protection initiative of Gaia at Dai Nam Tourist site.

“This caravan marks important efforts of media and journalists in environment protection. We expect and believe that there will be more practical efforts from businesses and media in environment protection and nature conservation.
