The information was announced at a press conference held in Hanoi on September 25th.
After the preliminary rounds, the semi-finals are scheduled to take place from March 15th to March 25th, 2020 in Hanoi and the final round will be held in Trang An scenic landscape complex in the northern province of Ninh Binh from April 15th to April 27th, 2020.
The winner of the beauty pageant will receive a cash prize of VND300 million and a crown with a cost of VND500 million.
The first and second runner-up positions will both be awarded a crown worth VND100 million and a bonus of VND200 million and VND100 million, respectively.
In addition, the organizers of the competition will also present sub-categories such as, Miss Heritage, Miss Talent, Miss Ao Dai, Miss Tourism and Miss Fashion, who will be awarded VND35 million each.
The beauty pageant, which will be organized every two years, is for girls from 10 ASEAN nations including Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, the Philippines, and Malaysia, aged 18 to 27 with a height of 1.65 meters and above.
The event is among activities to promote the National Tourism Year 2020 - Ninh Binh and also mark Vietnam taking on the role of ASEAN President next year.
The contest aims to tighten the friendship and solidarity among ASEAN countries and help young people learn about the value of cultures, histories and heritages of the region./.
