The Thai Binh provincial Election Committee organized an election for an additional 26 deputies to communal People’s Councils for the 2016-2021 period in 14 electoral units of 13 communes of six districts in the province. These units didn’t elect the minimum two out of three of assigned deputies of communal People’s Councils on the national election day of May 22nd.
In particular, Thai Thuy district has two electoral units, electing four additional deputies; Tien Hai district has two electoral units, electing four additional deputies; Quynh Phu district has one electoral unit, electing two additional deputies; Vu Thu district has one electoral unit, electing three additional deputies; Dong Hung district has five electoral units, electing nine additional deputies; and Kien Xuong district has three electoral units, electing four additional deputies.
In spite of hot weather, voters still actively participated in the election, performing the rights and obligations of their citizens with a high rate. As of 7pm of the same day, voter participation had reached over 97%.
On May 22nd, voters in Thai Binh province elected 7,188 deputies to communal People’s Councils for the 2016-2021 period.
On the same day, the Ha Nam provincial Election Committee organized an election for an additional 44 deputies to communal People’s Councils for the 2016-2021 period in 19 electoral units in 14 communes of Thanh Liem, Binh Luc, Ly Nhan, Duy Tien districts and Phu Ly city, which didn’t elect the required two out of three assigned deputies to communal People’s Councils. Binh Luc district has to elect 15 additional deputies to communal People’s Councils of five communes. As of 7pm of the day, voter participation was 96.8%.
On May 22nd, Ha Nam province elected 2,897 out of 3,026 deputies to communal People’s Councils for the 2016-2021 period.
On May 5th, voters in 16 electoral units of 18 communes of Nam Dinh province’s eight districts including My Loc, Vu Ban, Y Yen, Nam Truc, Nghia Hung, Truc Ninh, Xuan Truong and Giao Thuy elected additional 37 deputies to communal People’s Councils for the 2016-2021 period.
According to the Nam Dinh provincial Election Committee, My Loc district has two electoral units, electing four additional deputies; Vu Ban has one electoral unit, electing two additional deputies; Y Yen district has eight electoral units, electing 15 additional deputies; Nam Truc district has two electoral units, electing four additional deputies; Nghia Hung has an electoral unit, electing a single additional deputy; Truc Ninh district has three electoral units, electing six additional deputies; Xuan Truong district has an electoral unit, electing two additional deputies; and Giao Thuy district has an electoral district, electing three additional deputies.
As of 7pm of the same day, voter participation reached 91.6%./.
