The forum aims to raise awareness and call people to take actions to eliminate violence on women and girls, in order to build happy and prosperous families and a stable society.

According to Trinh Thanh Hang from VGCL, there are currently 2.5 million labourers in the garment and textile sector, with a large number of female labourers.

Statistics show that in Vietnam, 58% of women suffer from at least one of physical, spiritual or sexual violence. Le Thi Linh Trang, a doctor of psychology from the Ho Chi Minh city Cadre Academy, expressed her worries about violence and sexual abuse over children, especially girls, which make them not only the victims of domestic violence, but also the targets of human trafficking and sexual abuse.

She shared knowledge to recognize domestic violence and sexual harassment; and expressed her hope that each labourer will be a distributor of domestic violence prevention so that their friends, relatives and communities say no to domestic violence and violence on women and girls.

During the forum, experts considered raising social awareness and increasing families’, schools’ and communities’ responsibilities on domestic violence prevention, an effective way to gradually eliminate violence on women and girls, maintaining stable development of society./.
