The program also aims to support the development of avian flu safe regions and foundations in Vietnam, contributing to reducing the risk of virus transmission to humans, and promoting the sustainable development of the breeding industry and exports.

Under the program, all poultry with suspected symptoms of avian flu will be inspected, and veterinary agencies informed, before taking medical samples for testing.

In addition, key breeding localities that produce poultry for exports will take medical poultry samples for testing, while 100% of breeding farms will be under inspection for avian flu. Inspection for avian flu viruses will also be conducted at live poultry markets in border localities, while samples will be taken for testing from illegally transported poultry.

Epidemic officers across the country will be provided with training knowledge about inspection and the investigation of outbreaks./.
