The contest is one of 9 national activities marking the 130th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh launched by the Party Central Committee Commission on Popularization and Education, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ministry of Education and Training.

Running since April 15th, the contest is held under 3 forms: painting, writing and online exams. Each primary and secondary candidate can join from one to three forms.

So far, of nearly 4.5 million works, the organizing committee has received 75,023 writings, over 3.7 million paintings, and over 687,000 online exam competitions. This reflects not only a record high number of entries, but the entries showed diverse creative ideas with rich contents and vivid illustrations, clearly reflecting Uncle Ho’s love and care for children, as well as the children’s affection, respect and gratitude towards Uncle Ho.

The organizing committee selected one first-prize award, 2 second-prize awards, 3 third-prize awards and 4 consolation awards for each of group of primary and secondary school candidates./.
