From 2016 to 2020, 4.9 million rural labourers have been given vocational training, including 36% given agricultural training and 64% given non-agricultural training.

The information was released by the Directorate of Vocational Training and Education under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
Ethnic minority people, poor people, disabled people and other beneficiaries belong to groups provided priority for vocational training.
The Directorate of Vocational Training and Education has reported that 81.4% of trained labourers get new jobs, or do their previous jobs with higher productivity and more stable income.
The results are suitable with industries’ demand for trainees, and the socio-economic development tendency to shift from agricultural to non-agricultural jobs, according to the directorate.
Over VND1.3 trillion has been spent on the training over the past 5 years./.
