According to the Subcommittee of Treatment, 15 COVID-19 patients were being treated at health facilities in stable health condition, of which four have tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the disease at least twice, and three others negative once, and only eight people still test positive for COVID-19 as of July 6th.

The British pilot, known as Patient 91 and the most critically ill COVID-19 patient in Vietnam, has recovered well and is now in good enough health to be flown back home to the UK on a July 12th flight of National carrier Vietnam Airlines, operating to return Vietnamese citizens home.

Patient 91 underwent 109 days of treatment at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh city and Cho Ray Hospital. During the treatment, there were times the pilot's health nearly fell into critical condition.

Earlier, the Subcommittee of Treatment and leading experts in infectious, respiratory, cardiovascular, surgical and resuscitation, organized many national consultations to discuss solutions, measures as well as treatments suitable for each health stage of the pilot.

On July 3rd, the Subcommittee of Treatment held the 6th national consultation on the health status of Patient 91 so as to have a comprehensive review of his health and determined that the patient was eligible for health on a 12-hour flight from Hanoi to the UK. The Vietnamese side will send medical workers to accompany him on the way home./.
