Nearly VND4.5 billion to increase education quality for disadvantaged children

The Da Nang city People’s Committee has received the project on increasing the quality of education for disadvantaged children, sponsored by Save the Children, using a capital of nearly VND4.5 billion and being implemented until November 2019.

It aims to increase the readiness to go to school among poor pupils in 2 pre-schools in Hoa Vang district and 3 in Lien Chieu districts by providing them maths, reading and writing skills; upgrading restrooms and providing hygienic equipment and practices for the children.
Together with it, the project will be carried out to improve writing and reading skills among disadvantaged pupils in 5 pre-schools in Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang districts.
Under the project, since 2015, the Early Learning Matters (ELM) toolkit has been provided for over 4,000 ethnic minority children aged 3-6 in Yen Bai and Quang Nam provinces.
From now until 2020, the ELM will continue to be carried out across the 6 provinces and cities of Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Quang Binh, Da Nang, Tien Giang and Can Tho./.
