On September 14, the Politburo worked with the Standing Board of the Nghe An Party Committee to give comments on the draft Document and personnel plan of the Executive Board to be submitted to the 19th provincial Party Congress (term 2020-2025). Politburo member and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired the meeting.
At the event, PCC alternate member and Secretary of the Nghe An Party Committee, Thai Thanh Quy said that to realize the Resolution of the 18th Party Congress (term 2015-2020); the Party Committee, authorities and people of Nghe An strived to achieve many important and comprehensive results in all fields.
The province’s economy developed rapidly with average GRDP estimated at 7.84% in the 2016-2020 period. Per capita GRDP by the end of 2020 reached VND44.34 million, up 1.5 fold compared to 2015. Annual budget collection fulfilled and exceeded the assigned estimate and the proportion of domestic collection increased.
In the 2020-2025 term, Nghe An sets the overall goal of building a transparent, strong and firm Party Committee and political system; promoting the tradition of history, culture and people of Nghe An; actively innovating to develop Nghe An rapidly and sustainably; and firmly ensuring national defense and security.
For the new term, Nghe An set three development breakthroughs: strongly improving the business and investment environment associated with administrative reform and increasing application of information technology to management and administration; continuing to train, develop and attract high-quality human resources; and continuing to develop key infrastructure systems to promote the socio-economic development of the province.
The Government leader said that preparation for the 19th Nghe An Party Congress was implemented thoughtfully and seriously in accordance with the spirit of Directive 35-CT/TW of the Politburo and other documents of the PCC.
He asked Nghe An to build a deep and exemplary political report which shows vision and determination to rise up. In addition, the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee should study and follow guidance of the central and views and objectives of the Politburo in Resolution 26-NQ/TW dated July 30, 2013, and announcement 55-TB/TW dated April 20, 2019, on reviewing 5 years of realizing Resolution 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo (term 11) on orientations and tasks to develop Nghe An by 2020.
For personnel, he agreed with the number of members of the Executive Board, Standing Board; structure and proportion of young and female cadres as planned for the 2020-2025 period./.
