Nghe An province busts ring trafficking drugs from Laos into Vietnam

The police and border guards of Nghe An province on May 28th arrested two Lao people for illegally transporting drugs.

From early May, a ring trafficking drugs from Laos into Vietnam through the border in Thong Thu commune, Que Phong district, Nghe An province, was discovered. Therefore, Que Phong district police and border guards at the Thong Thu border post have followed the case.

Around 4am of May 28th, the two people appeared but were carrying no drugs.

After examining the situation, the two people turned back into the forest. However, the police and border guards arrested them when they came back to carry out a transaction, and seized three packages of opium, weighing 3kg and two packets of ecstasy (nearly 400 tablets).

They are Tho Po Tho, born in 1966 and Chong Cho Vu, born in 1995 from Vieng Phan, Sam To district, Houaphan province, Laos.

The case is under further investigation by Que Phong district police./.
