Nghe An summarizes activities for advancement of women

Over the past year, Nghe An focused on integrating gender equality indicators into socio-economic development plan and increasing inspection over implementation of gender equality and the advancement of women; contributing to further promoting its gender equality targets.

On November 21st, the central province of Nghe An organized a meeting to summarize activities for the advancement of women in in 2019.
As a result, the percentage of women being managers and leaders of elected bodies has been higher. So far, the province has had 8 women joining the Executive Board of the Nghe An provincial Party Committee; 3 in the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee.
At district level, there have been 2 female Deputy Secretaries, 33 in the Standing Board, and 146 in the Executive Board. At communal level, 217 women are members of the Standing Board and 1446 women are members of the Executive Board.
The locality now has 57 boards for the advancement of women belonging to provincial departments and agencies; 21 boards for the advancement of women in districts, city and towns and 480 boards at communal level.
At the event, delegates agreed to increase communication on promoting gender equality in the field of politics; improve the position of women in all areas; and heighten the management capacity of the State on gender equality./.
