According to Ly Kim Soi, Centre Director, the centre has directed border medical quarantine teams to increase disease inspection in border areas and border gates, strictly following regulations on medical checks for those who need medical quarantine, especially those who come from areas reporting cases.

The centre has also been on duty to check visitors’ temperature to detect any who may have contracted fever and respiratory syndrome, and give them medical check-ups and apply preventive measures.

Quarantine teams have worked with and shared information with relevant agencies at border areas, especially with animal quarantine agencies, to carry out preventive measures. Meanwhile, health workers in border gates have focused on disseminating information about the disease, as well as preventive measures for those coming to and from infected areas.

Apart from two temperature meters at the Huu Nghi international border gate, the centre has installed some remote temperature meters at Tan Thanh and Coc Nam border gates and Dong Dang railway station.

Medical materials have been provided to all international, main and secondary border gates. In particular, an isolation area has been established at the Huu Nghi international border gate for suspected patients.

According to statistics by authorized forces at border gates, since early February, border gates in the province have welcomed nearly 130,000 arrivals; therefore, medical inspection at border gates has become an increasingly important task, and has been considered a leading mission./.
