Over 1,000 presents for AO victims and vision-impaired people

On May 9th, the Vinh Long provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange, in collaboration with the provincial Association of Blind People and sponsors, presented over 1,000 gifts worth VND300,000 to AO victims and poor blind people in the province.

Of which, 669 presents were given to AO victims and 402 were provided for poor blind people.

Vice Chairman of the Vinh Long provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange Pham Van Huong said the program aimed to share the difficulties of AO victims and poor blind people.

There are 6,560 people infected with toxic chemicals, with a majority leading difficult lives.

In 2017, the association will continue to accelerate the implementation of programs to overcome the consequences of toxic chemicals.

Accordingly, the association will strive to mobilize VND4-4.5 billion to give presents to 14,000-15,000 AO victims; build and repair 10-15 houses; support production loans for 10-15 households; and assist 8,000-10,000 poor AO victims with medical fees.

In addition, it will continue to increase the quality of two rehabilitation centres for AO victims./.
