Over 10,200 units of blood collected in nation’s largest donation drive

The nation’s largest blood donation drive, 11th Red Spring Festival, launched by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) in collaboration with relevant agencies from March 3rd-11th, collected over 10,200 units of blood, exceeding the target of 8,000 units.

During the 3 day event from March 9
th-11
th, 11,000 people joined the blood donation drive at NIHBT and 8,500 registered to donate blood, collecting over 7,000 units.
Earlier, 17 blood donation locations were opened in Hanoi, which helped receive over 3,400 units of blood. Compared to previous years, the event was prolonged to 9 days and took place in different places, making favourable conditions for blood donors, and increasing the quality of care for blood donors.
Initiated in 2008, the festival has made important contributions to ensure blood for medical treatment. Eleven journeys attracted over 200,000 participants and received over 70,500 units of blood./.
