Over 14,000 tons of rice allocated to people during Tet

The Prime Minister issued six decisions on distributing over 14,000 tons of rice from the State reserves in assistance to people across 17 localities during the 2017 lunar New Year (Tet).

The information was announced by the General Department of State Reserves under the Minister of Finance on February 22nd.

Le Van Thoi, Deputy Head of the General Department of State Reserves, said that the allocation of rice had been completed before Tet.

In addition, in the first half of 2016-2017 school year, the Ministry of Finance assigned the General Department of State Reserves to allocate over 26,500 tons of rice for over 540,000 pupils in 49 provinces and cities.

To ensure the allocation of rice for pupils in the second half of the school year, the General Department of State Reserves has proposed the Ministry of Finance issue a decision to assist over 487,000 pupils in 47 localities with over 29,200 tons of rice./.
