Over 4,000 people walk for the poor

Over 4,000 individuals who are leaders and former leaders of Ho Chi Minh city’s Phu Nhuan district, businesses’ leaders, sponsors, workers, officers and people across the district on November 19th joined a walk to raise fund for the poor.

Accordingly, they walked on 3.2 kilometres through Hoa Phuong, Truong Sa, Phan Dinh Phung, Phan Dang Luu and Phan Xich Long streets.

The annual program aims to encourage agencies, businesses and individuals to donate money to assist disadvantaged people. This year, the organising committee has received over VND6.2 billion.

Over the past 15 years, over VND70 billion has been raised from the program, which has helped build and repair houses of charity and of gratitude; grant scholarships to poor pupils and students with excellent academic results; present medical insurance cards; care for lunar New Year festival for poor people, disadvantaged workers, lonely elderly people, orphans and people with disabilities./.
