Over VND115 trillion to develop Central Highlands traffic infrastructure

From now until 2020, the Ministry of Transport (MoT) will mobilize VND115.066 trillion to develop the traffic infrastructure system in the Central Highlands region, the Central Highlands region Steering Committee has reported.

Accordingly, MoT plans to upgrade and build the national and provincial highways, especially in areas linking provinces in the Central Highlands region and linking the region with coastal localities in south-central region as well as with important border gates.

In particular, MoT will upgrade 860 kilometres of sections belonging to the national highways 14C, 19, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 40B and 55, and 3.5 kilometres of Ho Chi Minh Road going through Buon Ma Thuot city.

The ministry will also invest in the building of Dau Giay - Lien Khuong highway; repair airports with over VND3 trillion, focusing on repairing the Buon Ma Thuot airport in Dak Lak province and the Lien Khuong airport in Lam Dong province.

Coordination between MoT and localities in the region will be set up to build a railway route in the Central Highlands to serve the production of aluminum and link the region with seaports.

Localities in the region will continue to use over VND49.5 trillion to upgrade and build provincial, district and communal roads, while carrying out the construction of 360 bridges to serve the production and daily life of ethnic minority people.

According to the Central Highlands region Steering Committee’s Standing Board, between 2010 and 2015, the State allocated over VND60.682 trillion to invest in traffic infrastructure in the Central Highlands. As a result, many key traffic constructions were completed, contributing to positively changing the face of the region./.
