Diverse businesses, agencies and sponsors across the country on August 26 continued to donate capital, medical facilities and food to Da Nang city, helping the city strengthen its fight against COVID-19.

The donation aimed to respond to the call on the whole people to support the fight against COVID-19 by the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Accordingly, the donation included 5 patient monitoring machines, mobile screens and antibacterial paper worth VND550 million from the US Business Association in Vietnam; 13,000 face masks, 6,300 protective suits and dry hand sanitizer from Vinacapital and Vinacapital Foundation; and 1,500 protective suits and 42,500 face masks from the Vietnam Tennis Federation.
Receiving the donation, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Da Nang city Duong Dinh Lieu expressed his thanks to organizations and individuals for their assistance, considering it a great driving force for the fight against the pandemic and for bringing peaceful life for the people.
According to Mr. Lieu, from July 27 to August 21, the city Fatherland Front received over VND51 billion in cash and medical equipment from businesses and sponsors.
From the donation, the city Fatherland Front distributed VND20 billion to the city Department of Health for buying bio-products for COVID-19 tests; VND2.8 billion to buy goods and rice serving hospitals, medical stations, isolation areas and disadvantaged residents. Meanwhile, goods have been allocated to the frontline fighters of COVID-19 and people in isolation areas.
On the other hand, the city Fatherland Front has also earmarked its COVID-19 prevention fund to give assistance of 10 kilograms of rice to each poor person, those living near the poverty line, disabled person, and hawker and lottery seller./.
