Poor pupils and families provided with presents

Politburo member and Standing Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh on August 27th presented scholarships to poor pupils with excellent academic results and gifts to disadvantaged teachers, as well as poor families, in the border commune of Tan Lap, Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh province.

Accordingly, thanks to the sponsorship of different agencies and businesses, 50 houses worth VND3.5 billion; VND130 million; 500 pupils’ school bags; 300 notebooks; 50 bicycles; and 200 presents were presented to poor pupils and families, as part of activities marking the Traditional Day of the Office of the Government (August 28th) and the National Day (September 2nd).

Nguyen Van Cuong, Head of the Trade Union of the Department of Administration – Management II under the Office of the Government, said that the program would continue to work with sponsors to support disadvantaged pupils and families, especially those in remote areas.

Dang Van Nghia, Chairman of the Tan Bien district People’s Committee, confirmed that the assistance would help poor pupils continue their education and poor families boost economic development, thus improving their living standard./.
