Quang Ngai province: Over VND7 billion for to help overcome flood recovery

Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh and Secretary of the Quang Ngai provincial Party Committee Le Viet Chu on January 8th presented assistance cash assistance to 20 families whose houses were damaged by floods in 7 localities in the province.

Accordingly, each family was assisted with VND40-50 million.
This was the first phase of assistance in the social welfare and flood mitigation program carried out in the province by the delegation of the province’s National Assembly deputies.
The program has received VND7.5 billion from large groups and corporations, including the National Oil and Gas Group (VND1 billion), the Electricity of Vietnam (VND2 billion), the Vietnam Steel Corporation (VND600 million), and the Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Corporation (VND500 million).
At first, the Quang Ngai provincial Fatherland Front and the province’s delegation of NA deputies earmarked VND1 billion for 2,000 presents to flood-affected people in 14 localities. The rest will be distributed to help affected people during the lunar New Year festival./.
