Quang Tri province cares for revolutionary contributors

According to Nguyen Van Hung, Secretary of the Quang Tri provincial Party Committee, progress has been made in the province’s Party building as the provincial Executive Board of the Party Committee has raised high its spirit of self-criticism and criticism, and set an example for its members to follow.

Outstanding results have also been achieved in the province, with the provincial competitiveness index (PCI) ranking 43rd in the country and the public administrative reform index (PAR) in 2016 ranking 14th, an increase of 26 ranks compared to 2015.

In the first half of 2017, the province collected over VND1.1 trillion for the State budget, while the poverty rate was reduced from 15.43% to 13.49%.

In particular, the province has paid special attention to payment of gratitude activities. Since the beginning of this year, the province has built 1,050 and repaired 2,347 houses for revolutionary contributors, while inaugurating 70 payment of gratitude constructions.

During the 70th anniversary of the Day for Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs (July 27th), the province has started the building of 260 houses for revolutionary contributors, 100 of which being supported by central agencies and the rest being constructed with donations from individuals and organizations.

Addressing the meeting with provincial leaders, Ms Mai praised the important results gained by the province, especially in realizing policies for ethnic minorities and revolutionary contributors, poverty reduction and socio-economic development.

She urged the province to continue to care for religious dignitaries, provide better material and spiritual lives for revolutionary contributors, and support the livelihoods of coastal residents./.
