The exhibition on 10-year achievements of implementing the new rural construction program organized by the Central Steering Committee of National Target Programs has taken place in the Red river delta province of Nam Dinh.

The event was consists of two subdivisions, providing information on new rural construction achievements and showcasing of typical products in the program of 63 provinces and cities and of some businesses with 80 stalls.
So far, 4,665 communes and 109 district-level units have met new rural standards by the Prime Minister.
Eight provinces and cities directly under the Central Government have had 100% of communes having completed construction as new rural areas.
The information has been released by Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee of National Target Programs for the period 2016 - 2020, at a ceremony in Nam Dinh province.
According to Minister Cuong, after more than 10 years of implementing the Resolution of the 7th session of the 10th Party Central Committee on agriculture, farmers and rural areas, the national target program of building new rural areas has obtained important achievements, exceeding the target of 50% of communes meeting the new rural standards, one year earlier than the plan.
These positive results have created a new face for the country in rural areas, spacious infrastructure, rich socio-cultural life and increasingly developed agricultural and rural production, positively contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the country.
The success of the new rural program in recent years has contributed to the overall achievements of the agricultural sector in particular and the country in general./.
