Thai Binh province: Enterprises present 45,000 gifts to poor

Over 400 enterprises in the northern province of Thai Binh, during a meeting with the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee on January 11th, committed to allocate over 45,000 presents worth nearly VND13 billion to poor people during the lunar New Year festival (Tet).

Addressing the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Hong Dien appreciated the efforts of enterprises in overcoming difficulties for boosting development. “The achievements the province gained in 2016 were contributed by the business community, which helped ensure social welfare and building new style rural areas,” he said, pledging to continue to push administrative procedure reform and create a transparent legal framework and investment environment, providing convenient conditions for the development of businesses.

According to Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Van Ca, in 2016, Thai Binh province gained impressive socio-economic development and investment attraction, with stable operation of businesses. The province’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) saw two-digit growth (10.12%), higher than the average growth of the country, while the industrial production was valued at over VND40 trillion, an increase of 14.98% compared to 2015; and budget collection recorded nearly VND11 trillion for the first time.

There are currently 910 projects with a registered capital of some VND114 trillion, including 510 having been put into operation. In 2016, the number of newly-registered enterprises increased by 22% compared to 2015, bringing the total number of enterprises in the province to nearly 5,000./.
