Towns in three provinces established

Three towns in Thanh Hoa, Phu Yen and Binh Dinh provinces have been established at a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

At the meeting, Minister of Home Affairs Le Vinh Tan said that, based on the proposals of the People's Committees of Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Thanh Hoa and the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government issued reports to submit to the National Assembly Standing Committee for consideration and decision to establish Hoai Nhon, Dong Hoa and Nghi Son towns.

Accordingly, Hoai Nhon town (Binh Dinh province) is established on the basis of the entire 420.84 km2 of natural area, 212,063 people of Hoai Nhon district. 11 wards in Hoai Nhon town are established on the basis of the 2 towns and 9 communes of Hoai Nhon district. Thus, Binh Dinh has 1 city, 2 towns and 8 districts; 32 wards, 10 towns and 117 communes. In particular, Hoai Nhon town has 11 wards and 6 communes.

Dong Hoa town (Phu Yen province) is established on the basis of the entire 265.62 km2 natural area, 119,991 people of Dong Hoa district. 5 wards of Dong Hoa town are established on the basis of the 2 towns and 3 communes of Dong Hoa district. Thus, Phu Yen has 1 city, 2 towns and 6 districts, 21 wards, 6 towns and 83 communes. In particular, Dong Hoa town has 5 wards and 5 communes.

Nghi Son town (Thanh Hoa province) is established on the basis of the entire 455.61 km2 natural area, 307,304 people of Tinh Gia district. 16 wards under Nghi Son town are established on the basis of the 01 town and 15 communes of Tinh Gia district. Thus, Thanh Hoa province has 2 cities, 2 towns and 23 districts; 50 wards, 28 towns and 481 communes. In particular, Nghi Son town has 16 wards and 15 communes./.
