According to Tran Van Can, Chairman of the Long An provincial People’s Committee, the USD42 million plant, the first of its kind in Long An, marks an important milestone in the development of new energy program in the province. “Once put into operation, it will become a premise for the opening of diverse other solar power plants,” he said.

Expected to be completed by June 2019, the plant targets to produce some 60 million kWh at maximum in the first year of operation, contributing to increasing the capacity of the national grid.

Under the project, an 110kV transformer station, internal traffic system, the water pumping system for reservoirs and 9 kilometres of power lines will be constructed.

Representatives from the BCG Bang Duong Energy Joint Stock Company, the project investor, said that they would cooperate with world leading solar power partners in ensuring technology, construction and environmental work./.
