It was part of a program on improving women’s livelihoods and engagement toward increasing resilience to natural disaster risks and climate change impacts, worth USD850,000 funded by Chanel Fund for 3 years.

The program looks to both targets of increasing women’s livelihoods, and resilience to natural disaster risks and climate change, by carrying out choices on sustainable livelihoods and promoting women’s leadership in reducing disaster risks and climate change adaptation in communities.

During the workshop, delegations discussed the preparations of implementation of sustainable livelihood models through consultation with women’s unions and agricultural promotion centers at all levels, as well as interviews with beneficiaries which are expected to include supporting H’Mong ethnic minority women in Lao Cai province in planting red peanuts and raising chickens in adaptation with land erosion and floods./.
