The Vietnam Administration of AIDS Control (VAAC) held a meeting on April 14 with representatives from international HIV/AIDS prevention and control organizations in Vietnam to organize a national event about HIV/AIDS prevention in 2010 and call on cooperation and support from these organizations.

The meeting was co-chaired by Assc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thanh Long, head of the VAAC and Mr Eamonn Murphy, country director of UNAIDS in Vietnam.

At the meeting, participants listened to plans to organize ten national events to prevent HIV/AIDS in 2010, discussed organization planning and made initial commitments supporting VAAC and related units to successfully organize the events.

Mr Eamonn Murphy also committed to cooperate closely with VAAC to organize the above events, and called on international organizations working on HIV/AIDS prevention in Vietnam to further combine and support finance and offer financial and technical support for organizing the events successfully.
