Vietnam reports 73 suspected cases of nCoV

As of February 3rd, Vietnam has reported 73 suspected cases of the acute respiratory disease caused by a new coronavirus (nCoV) who are isolated at medical foundations for treatment, the country’s epidemic inspection system has announced.

Of which, 8 cases were also confirmed.

According to the epidemic inspection system, nearly 17,400 people across 26 countries and territories were recognized to be infected with the disease, including over 17,200 in China; and 362 fatalities, including 361 in China and 1 in the Philippines.

In realization of the Party Central Committee Secretariat’s and the Prime Minister’s directions on the prevention of the disease, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health has strictly worked with ministries and sectors to carry out measures, including temporary closing of schools and use of alcohol meters and production of masks.

It has also prepared materials, medical equipment and chemicals to prevent the spread of the disease./.
