Part of the capital will be spent carrying out 30 transitional projects under the Support Program to Respond to Climate Change (SP-RCC); and 42 projects on planting coastal forests and protective forests.

Earlier, the Prime Minister adopted the target program on climate change response and green growth in the 2016-2020 period, with a goal to plant and restore 10,000 hectares of coastal forests and protective forests to adapt to climate change, absorb 2 million tons of CO2 gas each year and create stable livelihoods for residents.

It also aims to promote the capacity of the whole country in applying solutions to adapt to climate change, reduce glasshouse gas emission, and protect people’s lives and their properties.

Accordingly, the ability of adapting to climate change by human and natural systems will be increased, in order to look towards green growth, low carbon economy, enrichment of nature, and sustainable development.

The capital will be used by the Ministries of Natural Resources and Environment; Agriculture and Rural Development; Transport; Construction; Industry and Trade; and the other relevant agencies such as the Vietnam Fatherland Front; the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Vietnam Television; the Voice of Vietnam; and centrally-governed provinces and cities./.
