The National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) on June 4th in collaboration with the Vietnam Red Cross and Samsung Vietnam Complex, launched a voluntary blood donation program among staff of Bac Ninh province’s Yen Phong industrial zone.

Truong Minh Thang, Deputy President of the Bac Ninh provincial Red Cross, said that the program will be promoted in industrial zones, in particular, in Yen Phong industrial zone in June, and in Que Vo industrial zone as well as other industrial and export processing zones in July and August.
According to NIHBT representatives, the period between June and August often sees serious shortages of blood for medical treatment at hospitals. The voluntary blood donation launched in industrial zones, including Samsung Vietnam Complex with more than 10,000 participants, will make a great contribution to deal with the shortages.
Statistics from NIHBT show that in 2017, more than 21,700 Samsung staff alone donated 18,000 units of blood./.
