(CPV) - The 44th HanoiMoi Newspaper Run for Peace will be held this Sunday (October 1st) at Hoan Kiem lake.
Around 1,700 athletes will take part in the annual tournament, which offers separate categories and prizes for professional and amateur runners.
In the pro events, women will run three laps (equivalent to 5,250m) around Hoan Kiem lake, while the men will complete five laps, around 8,750m.

In the amateur category, students, workers, soldiers and expats, including several Ambassadors, will compete in different distances, ranging from 1,730m to 5,250m.
According to organizers (HanoiMoi newspaper and Hanoi city Department of Culture and Sports), the event is not only to discover seeds for the running competition, but also to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, 63rd anniversary of Liberation of the capital (October 10th); 18 years since Hanoi was recognized as the City for Peace by UNESCO, as well as “All the people practice physical training following great Uncle Ho Chi Minh” campaign.
The opening ceremony will begin at 07h00 in the front of Ly Thai To flower garden./.
