Five local tennis players first ever enter ATP

(CPV) - Vietnam’s top tennis player Ly Hoang Nam, 20, reached his highest ranking, earning six points in the recent Vietnam F1 Futures, advancing 30 slots to 522nd.

The 45-year-old Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), this week, has not yet updated the 10 points for Hoang Nam’s runner up position in the Vietnam F2 Futures. So, his place will be improved next week, meaning that he is in the Top 500 ATP.

Two other players, Trinh Linh Giang (20) and Nguyen Hoang Thien (22), were also named on the ATP rankings, with 1,365th and 1,867th positions, respectively.

Thanks to his great efforts, defending national champions Pham Minh Tuan (24) from Central Da Nang city listed 1,711th place in the ranking, plus his qualifier in the first round of the single men’s of the Vietnam F1 Futures.

In the Vietnam F3 Futures, started on November 20th, the three Vietnamese athletes Ly Hoang Nam, Pham Minh Tuan and Vietnamese-Ukraine Vu Artem (21) automatically qualified for the next round, and are hoped to gain more points.

The talented 16-year-old player Nguyen Van Phuong also entered the ATP rankings for the first time./.
