(CPV) - Vietnam's marksman Hoang Xuan Vinh held on to the world second place ranking in March in the men’s 10m air pistol category, with 882 points.

After winning an Olympic gold medal in 2016, the 44-year-old athlete retained top place for more than one year, but failed in recent international tournaments and has fallen one place.

Japanese Matsuda Tomoyuki has risen to the No.1 seat with 1,201 points. He was voted best shooter in 2017, according to the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).

There is no change for Vinh’s teammate Tran Quoc Cuong, also 44, placing 13th position.

Meanwhile, in the men’s 25m rapid pistol, Ha Minh Thanh remains at No.37, Phan Xuan Chuyen is No.47, and Phan Cong Minh No.56.

Big movements will come in the next month, with the ISSF World Cup in Mexico’s Guadalajara (scheduled to wrap up on March 12th)./.
