Park Hang-seo nominated as Asian best coach by Fox Sport

Sports broadcaster Fox Sport Asia has named head coach of the Vietnamese national football team Park Hang-seo among its shortlist for the most outstanding football managers in Asia.

According to the official website of Fox Sport Asia, a total of nine coaches have been nominated for consideration to be among the continent’s best.

Alongside Park Hang-seo on the list is Alfred Riedl who was the former coach of the Vietnamese national football team and the Indonesian team.

Elsewhere, the other nominated candidates include Alberto Zaccheroni, the former coach of Japan and the United Arab Emirates, together with Carlos Queiroz, Guus Hiddink, Radojko Avramović, Kiatisak Senamuang, Félix Sánchez Bas, and K.Rajagopal, who are the former managers of Iran, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Qatar, and Malaysia, respectively.

Park Hang-seo took over as head coach of the Vietnamese team in October 2017. Since his appointment, the Vietnamese national men’s football team has gone from strength to strength, recording a series of outstanding results under his coaching. Some of the achievements include claiming a second-place finish at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship in China, winning the AFF Cup 2018, progressing to the final four of the ASIAD 2018, a quarter-final finish at the Asian Cup 2019, and grabbing a gold medal in the men’s football event at the 30th Southeast Asian Games in 2019.

Along with the nomination of Park Hang-seo, several Vietnamese football stars including Quang Hai, Van Hau, and Van Lam were listed in various other categories by Fox Sport Asia./.
