SEA Games 2017: Bonus for shooters announced

(CPV) - During a ceremony held in Hanoi on August 15th, Vietnam Shooting Federation announced its bonus for shooters, who are heading for the 29th SEA Games in Malaysia.

The Vietnam national shooting team, led by Ms Nguyen Thi Nhung, has traveled to the federal constitutional monarchy located in Southeast Asia today with 18 athletes, four coaches and one Korean expert, will compete for 13 events.

Due to current rules, each player can compete in up to two events, and Vietnam looks set to bag three gold medals.

Marksman Hoang Xuan Vinh who snatched two medals, including one gold at the Rio Olympic Games 2016, will compete in his two best events: the men's 10m air pistol and men's 50 meter pistol.

According to Mr Do Van Binh, President of the Vietnam Shooting Federation, the governing body offers VND300 million and VND100 million for the 1st and 2nd ranking in delegation, respectively.

Any shooter who wins a gold will receive VND30 million in cash prize, and another VND60 million for the second gold medal. A “hot bonus” is offered for junior players who compete for the very first time in SEA Games.

This year’s sponsors are Hai Phat Group, Truong Tien Group, LAN Co., Ltd, Phuc Ha Group, Global Sport Management, and Musician, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Quang Vinh, Director of the Vietnam Contemporary Music Song and Dance Theatre.

Head coach Nguyen Thi Nhung said that total sponsorship for the Vietnamese national shooting team reached VND400 million so far./.
