(CPV) - Following the final list of registered teams, the organizing board has finalized the competing module for the women’s football event at SEA Games 2017.

The five teams should play in a round-robin format instead of grouping. The best three teams will be honored with gold, silver and bronze medals.

From August 15th- 24th, female footballers will compete in three stadiums located in Kuala Lumpur.

Rivals for the Vietnamese national squad are the Philippines, Myanmar, Thailand and Malaysia.

Women’s football first entered the SEA Games 2013 in Myanmar. At that time, there were six teams playing in two groups. The Vietnamese women missed their gold after losing to rival Thailand.

However, there was no women’s football event in previous SEA Games in Singapore.

Schedule for Vietnam at SEA Games 29 (Hanoi time) as follows:

August 17th: the Philippines - Vietnam (15h00)

August 20th: Vietnam - Myanmar (15h00)

August 22nd: Vietnam - Thailand (15h00)

August 24th: Malaysia - Vietnam (19h45)
